Kassandra Boswell is the mother of Josephine Boswell, who this foundation is named after. She is a transplant to GA and loves living in Savannah, where Josephine was born and raised. She works in construction consulting after spending over a decade moving her and her husband around the globe for different construction projects. She enjoys a myriad of hobbies however her favorite pastime was watching her daughter wrap her father around her little finger. She will always be grateful for her friends and family for not only being an amazing community to Josephine but for their unwavering support now and immediately following Josephine's passing.
Obviously devastated by the sudden unexplained death of Josephine, she is determined to make this foundation the change that she and Lee know Josephine would have been in this world.
Hopefully through fundraising efforts this foundation can not only provide supplemental financial support for daycare for families in need but can continue to provide support for The SUDC Foundation in the hopes that their research will someday prevent other parents from experiencing this horrible loss.
Tye Whitely, along with her husband Aaron, own Chunk’s Learning Center.
Josephine spent many of her days learning, playing and getting her way at
Chunk’s. Even at her young age, the teachers could see that she was a
leader among her peers. She, along with her two friends, were nicknamed
“Charlie’s Angels” as they worked together to turn their classrooms upside
down with mischief, laughter and fun. Tye has a passion for educating
students of all ages and considers herself blessed to have been a part of
Josephine’s early development and learning. She will always be grateful for
the joy that Josephine brought into her life and the lives of teachers and
students at Chunk’s.
As Josephine’s dad, Lee treasured his twenty seven months of time with her. Josephine’s innate curiosity about the world around her and her surprisingly mature level of empathy for a two year old were just a few of the many things Lee adored about her. He misses their reading times, cuddling on the couch, and sharing snack time. Lee is a high school teacher with eleven years experience in the classroom.
Linda (but more importantly Nama) is Josephine’s Grandmother. Josephine brought joy, laughter, and a sense of fulfillment to Linda’s life. Josephine is cherished for her uniqueness, her intelligence, but most importantly for everything she brought to our family.
Linda owns an accounting firm in Suwanee Georgia.
Gary being a stepparent to two great daughters, never got to see them being born. But when Josephine came along, he got to experience holding a newborn in his arms. He was a grandfather and being Josephine’s “Pop-Pop” meant the world to him. As Josephine grew she became his TV watching buddy whether it was cartoons or even football. They could be found on the couch either watching or napping (mostly Pop-Pop was napping) but they enjoyed the time together no matter what.
Gary has over 20 years of experience in Accounting with experience in construction and manufacturing accounting.
Nicole Pelky treasured her role of Aunt Nikki to Josephine. She credits Josephine and her outgoing and inclusive personality with warming her heart from the moment she found out about Josephine joining her family. Nicole has 20 years of combined experience in Operations, Sales and Accounting in the Learning and Development and Financial Services industries.
As a close family friend, Thomas became an honorary uncle to Josephine and enjoyed many trips to downtown Savannah with Josephine and her parents. Thomas has over 12 years of combined experience in Human Resources, Recruiting, and Executive Administration in a variety of industries. He has also volunteered with other non-profit organizations by managing social media accounts and coordinating events.
